On June 12, the Reverend David Duncombe, a seventy-two-year-old retired minister, began his second water-only fast in less than a year. Duncombe has shunned food as a show of solidarity with those in impoverished countries. He is urging the passage of debt relief legislation for the Third World. His previous fast was forty-five days long and ended last October.
