Week of Prayer and Fasting
June 4 – 11, 2006

Prayer focus

Please take time this week to fast (snacks, meals, media, etc.) and to pray in the following areas, as we ask God for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done in our lives, the lives of our neighbors, and the life of the Lancaster Vineyard.  As we fast we lay down something important to us in order to focus on God, remember our dependence on Him, give Him opportunity to change our hearts, and ask Him to move in our community.   Please join us.

Each day has a focus on God’s character and something to pray about…
(God’s character focus for each day is adapted from “31 Ways to Praise by Bob          Hostetter, Discipleship Journal - January 2006 issue)

Sunday

Focus on: The Eternal, Saving God.
“I give praise to You, Father, the only God and Savior.  To You be glory, majesty, power and authority through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore.”  (Jude 25)

Pray for: Children and Parents.
Please pray for the children who are part of our church family.  Pray that they would come to know Jesus and grow as radical followers of Him.  Pray that our children would be equipped to minister in the power of the Holy Spirit, doing the works of Jesus.  Pray for our children’s workers: blessing for their service, vision to pour their lives into children, new people to step into ministering to our children.  Pray for children in our community that we can reach out to them with the love of Jesus.
Please pray for parents.  Pray for parents both inside LVC and those outside our walls.  Pray for ways we can reach out to parents.  Pray that parents would grow in their ability to raise children in the way of the Lord.  Pray for connections we can make with parents to help them in the difficult task of raising children while also sharing God’s love with them in word and deed.  Pray for strength for parents, especially for those who, for a variety of reasons, are having to raise children alone.  Pray for parents who can act as mentors to those who are struggling.
